Two weeks ago Transparency International (TI) released its renowned and highly critical report on the perceived corruption worldwide. Developed countries such as New Zealand, Denmark and Finland topping the ranking, yielding the best results. However, as these countries continue to prosper Somalia, South Sudan and Syria continue their seemingly endless struggle to rid themselves of the abundant corruption. These war-stricken states have suffered under the wrath of clashes between rebel and Government forces, along with the excessive foreign involvement of countries attempting to gain power and using their power to protect their own interests.
